This year, 23 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Africa, Asia, and Latin America graduated from the Toilet Board Coalition Accelerator, driving innovation in the Sanitation Economy across 11 countries.
The Accelerator connects entrepreneurs with corporate mentors from LIXIL, Unilever and Kimberly-Clark, blending corporate expertise and SME innovation to scale impactful business models, fuelling sustainable SDG 6 impact at the community level.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, the Sanitation Economy is projected to reach $76.8 billion by 2030, creating 9.7 million livelihoods, and entrepreneurs are leading the charge. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of six SMEs from across Africa. Half are from West Africa, including Guinea, Niger and Senegal, which participated in the French language programme, while the other three, from Uganda and Kenya, completed the English language programme.

Brilliant Sanitation - Uganda
Brilliant Sanitation Uganda is a sanitation company from Uganda that offers the construction of toilets and septic tanks, pit emptying and maintenance, as well as consulting services in Kampala.

Kenya Cast Products - Kenya
Kenya Cast Products installs mono-block biological septic tanks that treat black water (human waste) onsite, eliminating pathogens and malignant bacteria. The effluent from the tanks can be recycled and reused to create green spaces. The company is targeting households, schools and businesses.

Ecosense Solutions - gUINEA
Ecosense Solutions (previously-La Guinéenne de Toilette) is a company dedicated to promoting, building and managing modern and appropriate sanitation infrastructure. The company provides SATO solutions, including innovative toilets and handwashing systems, to improve access to sanitation for vulnerable communities, including low-income households, schools and public institutions.

La Nigérienne d'Assainissement - Niger
NHA is the pioneering company in Niger’s emptying services, established to address the growing demand for pit emptying. The company specialises in the collection and transportation of liquid waste, the treatment and valorisation of by-products from waste collection, and the provision of disinsectisation and cleaning services. Additionally, NHA operates the only faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) in Niamey.

Sénégalaise d'Innovation pour l'Emploi et le Développement (SIED) - Senegal
SIED SARL is a company that developed SANI SHOP public toilets, designed to address gender-specific needs. These facilities include features for individuals with reduced mobility and dedicated cabins for menstrual hygiene management (MHM). The company promotes employment opportunities with a gender-diverse workforce and actively supports local economies.

Top Hygienic Products - Kenya
Top Hygienic Products is a sanitation company in Kenya that offers pit emptying, toilet construction and menstrual waste management in Bungama County.
