Accelerating sanitation unlocks human potential and transforms communities.
In 2017, the Toilet Board Coalition pioneered a new framing of sanitation, focusing on the value of the system rather than the cost. A Sanitation Economy can unlock a thriving market for innovative products and services across the entire value chain, from collection and transportation to treatment and reuse.
To fully harness the Sanitation Economy, a skilled workforce is essential. Our recently launched report, “Livelihoods in Sanitation Economy,” highlights the potential of 9.7 million in Sub-Saharan Africa, 62.5 million in Asia, and 2.4 million in Latin America by 2030. However, realising this potential will require a concerted, multi-stakeholder effort as the publication details.
To mobilise this powerful potential, we’re organising three WASH Leaders Forums globally across our focus regions: Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These forums connect industry leaders in an exclusive environment to accelerate business solutions to the sanitation crisis. The Latin America edition was held in June, and the next edition will be in Dakar, Senegal, this September.
As preparations for the Dakar edition are in full swing, we invite you to save the date and join us in turning sanitation challenges into opportunities for growth and dignity. This forum is more than an event; it’s a movement to tackle the global sanitation crisis head-on.
