Case Study

Let’s talk about periods: A Case Study of Green Lady Cambodia, UNICEF Cambodia, and MoEYS

Green Lady Cambodia is tackling period poverty, menstrual stigma, and environmental waste by producing reusable, biodegradable menstrual products.

Through a public-private partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and UNICEF Cambodia, a one-year initiative in rural Siem Reap and Preah Vihear is empowering schools and communities. The project focuses on training teachers, students, and community members in menstrual health management, building local capacity to produce and distribute sanitary pads, enhancing school water and sanitation facilities, and challenging societal stigma surrounding menstruation.

By addressing both education and health, this initiative helps girls stay in school, manage their periods safely, and participate fully in their communities.
